Woo Hoo! You get to learn about me and my life! This is so exciting! Ok maybe not but still I am thrilled to have you here on my blog. I have high hopes that I will be able to make a difference in someones life. This will sort of be a guide for anyone that is struggling with health, and more specifically being Gluten Free.
I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease when I was 15 years old. I spent a lot of time sick growing up and it seemed as though there wasn't any hope for me. I was just going to have to be a sick person. Luckily miracles do happen and we were able to figure out the source of my frailties. My mom was actually the first to be diagnosed in the family and it took my almost a year to be convinced that I had the same thing (let's face it, I didn't want to give up my subway sandwiches). It turns out my mom, dad, and 4 out of us 5 kids have Celiac Disease (doesn't seem so rare now does it?). I won't go through all the specifics of my first year going gluten free on this page but I will post about it soon. I am very happy for the blessing of knowing why I was sick for all those years. Was it hard to give up gluten? OH YES! But it is totally worth it for how I feel now.
Ok enough about Celiac. More about me! I was born in Utah and lived there and Montana growing up. I have a passion for health and wellness and helping individuals with their struggles. I love reading fantasy and sci-fi books. Biology or anything to do with the human body is my favorite subject to study and pretty much favorite thing to talk about. I am sort of a nerd in that way. I served a religious mission in Rochester New York for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2011-2012) and I am currently going to the University of Utah studying Exercise and Sports Science and Nutrition. I am the second youngest of 5 children. I am married to a wonderful man named Darin (we'll talk about him more later). We were married June 6, 2013. I am passionate about what I believe in and I am here to help you! Oh and one more very important thing, I am a HUGE fan of superman (thank goodness Darin is too).
Thank you for reading my blog!
